Step 1: Accessing Your WordPress Dashboard:

Begin by logging in to your WordPress admin panel. This is typically accessed at yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.

Step 2: Creating a New Page:

Go to Pages > Add New within your WordPress dashboard.

Step 3: Adding a Contact Form:

✔Installing a Contact Form Plugin:

   ▪Search for popular contact form plugins like Contact Form 7, WPForms, or Gravity Forms.

For this tutorial, we’ll use WPForms Lite, a free and user-friendly plugin. 

To install WPForms Lite, log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Plugins » Add New.

In the search field, type WPForms and click Install Now.

Once installed, activate the plugin by clicking the Activate button. If the plugins menu is not visible

 ✔Creating the Contact Form:

With WPForms activated, you’re ready to create a contact form. Go to WPForms » All Forms in your WordPress admin panel

Click Add New. 

This action opens the WPForms drag-and-drop form builder. Name your contact form.

Select a template. Hover over a template and click Use Template to choose it.

WPForms Lite offers over 20 free templates.

For this example, we’ll use the Simple Contact Form template, which includes fields for Name, Email, and Message. 

To modify form fields, click on them to open the Field Options panel on the left, where you can make adjustments.

To add new fields, select from the available options in the left sidebar and drag them onto your form, or click them to add automatically.

Once you’ve finished customizing your form, click ‘Save’.

Step 4: Configure Form Notifications and Confirmations

After creating your contact form, configure the notification and confirmation settings.

Form confirmation is what users see after submitting the form. You can customize this message in the Confirmation Message box under the Confirmations tab.

Alternatively, to redirect users to a different page, select Go to URL from the Confirmation Type dropdown and enter the desired URL.

Make sure to click Save after making changes.

For form notifications, go to the Notifications tab under the Settings menu. WPForms’ default settings are suitable for beginners, with pre-filled fields for the admin email and other details.

If you want to send notifications to a different or multiple email address, adjust the Send To Email Address field accordingly.

The Email Subject Line is pre-filled with your form’s name, and the form name is populated with your user’s name. Replies to form inquiries will be sent to the email address provided by the user.

Remember to click Save to apply any changes.

Step 5: Customizing Your Contact Us Page:

Now that you’ve configured your WordPress contact form, it’s time to add it to a page.

You can either add it to an existing contact page or create a new one.

To create a new contact page, refer to step 2 where we created a Contact Us page.

We’ll use the WPForms block to insert the form. Click on the Plus button to add a block and search for WPForms.

Select the WPForms block.

The WPForms block will appear in the content area.

Use the dropdown menu to choose the form you created earlier. WPForms will then display a preview of your contact form in the editor. Click Publish or Update to save your changes.

Visit your website to see the form in action.

If you only wanted to add the form to a page, you’re finished—congratulations!

WPForms also provides a shortcode for your contact form. Go to WPForms » All Forms and copy the shortcode next to your form.

To use the shortcode, open the page where you want to add the form, click the Plus button to add a block, and search for Shortcode.

Click Update or Publish to make your contact form live on your website.
