Let’s walk through the process together!

mail setup

Step 1: Choose an Email Client

The first step is picking an email client, which is just a fancy term for software that helps you manage your emails.

It enables sending, receiving, and managing messages from multiple accounts in one location.

Here are some popular options:

Microsoft Outlook: It’s a premium all rounder and great for personal/business applications, particularly good with Microsoft 365 and packed with features that are really useful.

Mozilla Thunderbird: Open source and very flexible, suitable if you are into customizing things around the way you like.

Apple Mail: It is standardized and pre installed within macOS, giving it an easy, elegant option for those of Apple preference.

Mailbird: Very user-friendly and has integration with productivity applications such as Slack, as well as Dropbox.

Canary Mail: A known for its AI-driven functions which ease the task of email operationalization.

So, how do you know which is right for you?

Here’s what to think about:

Compatibility: Ensure that email client(s) run seamlessly with OX Email and any other tools that you employ, such as calendars or task lists.

Features: For example, look for, amongst other features, a single inbox, powerful search, and security implemented with encryption and spam filtering.

Ease of Use: Select something which seems natural and enables you to control your emails efficiently and easily.

Step 2: Gather Your OX Email Server Details

Before we dive into setting up your OX Email on your favorite email client, there’s a little homework to do.

Don’t worry—it’s just about collecting the right information to make everything work smoothly.

Let’s get those details sorted out!

Here’s the info you’ll need to enter when setting up your email:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):

Server Address: imap.us.appsuite.cloud

Port: 993 (SSL)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):

Server Address: smtp.us.appsuite.cloud

Port: 465 or 587 (SSL/TLS)

Security Protocols

For IMAP, you’ll use SSL to keep your connection secure.

For SMTP, you can choose either SSL on port 465 or STARTTLS on port 587, depending on the options available in your email app.

Additional Information

Username: This is your full OX email address, like [email protected].

Password: Use the password tied to your OX email account.

With these details handy, you’re all set to move on to the next step and complete the setup.

Easy, right?

Let’s keep going!

Step 3: Configure OX Email on Your Chosen Client

Now it’s time to configure OX Email in your email program.

Let’s simplify it step by step so you can get up and running in minutes.

add account

1. Add a New Account

To begin with, you have to add your OX Email account in your email program.

Here’s how to do it:

Open Your Email Client

Launch the email app you’ve decided to use. This can be Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail (or any you like).

Go to Account Settings

Depending on your email client, navigate to the settings for managing accounts:

In Outlook: File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

For Thunderbird: Tools > Account Settings.

In Apple Mail: Mail > Preferences > Accounts.

Add a New Account

Find an equivalent command such as “Add Account/ New Account” and click it. Now you’re ready to move to the next step!

2. Input the Server Settings

This part involves entering some important details.

Don’t worry; I’ll guide you through:

Choose the Account Type

When asked, pick IMAP as the account type.

Enter Your Email Address

Type in your full OX Email address (e.g., [email protected]).

Incoming Mail Server Details

Server Address: imap.us.appsuite.cloud

Port: 993

Security Type: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server Details

Server Address: smtp.us.appsuite.cloud

Port: 465 or 587

Security Type: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS

Enter Your Login Information

Username: Your full email address.

Password: The password for your OX Email account.

3. Enable Authentication for Outgoing Mail

To make sure everything works smoothly, you’ll need to tweak the authentication settings.

Set Up SMTP Authentication

Check the box next to “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.”

Choose “Use same settings as my incoming mail server.”

Finalize the Configuration

If your email client has a “More Settings” option, click it and confirm that SSL is selected for both incoming and outgoing connections.

Save your changes and close the settings window.

Step 4: Test the Setup

Good work on setting up the OX Email on your mail client!

Now let’s make sure everything is working smoothly.

Testing the connection is the next step, and I’ll guide you through how to check your setup.

Send a Test Email:

Write a quick email and send it to yourself or a friend.

Just after the sending button is pressed, verify if it is fulfilled by leaving the outbox in an errorless way.

Receive a Test Email:

Ask someone to email you, or send yourself a message from another account.

Open your OX Email and see if it is there.

If both steps work perfectly, you’re good to go!

But if not, verify the server information and login credentials.
